ANR Connections Training Program (Summer 2026)

ANR Connections is a statewide training program for newer agriculture and natural resource professionals looking to build their understanding of South Dakota agriculture. Through hands-on tours, virtual learning, and peer connections, participants gain practical knowledge they can use in their work with producers and communities.
This program follows the growing season across South Dakota, offering a real-world look at agricultural systems, from planting and livestock production through harvest.
Participants will:
- Learn from experienced ag and conservation professionals
- Visit farms, ranches, and research sites across the state
- Join weekly Zoom discussions
- Complete self-paced online coursework
- Build connections with producers and professionals statewide
In-Person Schedule
- June 1 – Pierre (Welcome & Training)
- June 18 – Ideal (Beef Cattle Tour)
- July 1 – Brookings (Swine Tour)
- July 31 – Specialty Ag Tour (TBD)
- Week of August 11 – Dairy Tour (TBD)
- August 31 – Wrap-Up & Celebration (TBD)
Additional Info
- Program follows the growing season and includes 2–3 hours of weekly participation
- Registration includes training materials, meals/snacks, and transportation during tours (if needed)
- Participants are responsible for travel to meeting locations
- Attendance at required in-person sessions is expected
