Join South Dakota State University for a seminar exploring “What is Range” and the importance of rangelands to South Dakota.
Rangelands cover more than half the state—around 24 million acres—and play a critical role in supporting agriculture, water resources, wildlife habitat, and rural communities. This session will highlight how rangelands function as productive, working landscapes and why their health matters to everyone.
This event is part of the 2026 International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists, a global effort to raise awareness of the vital role rangelands play in environmental sustainability and economic resilience.
